The study utilized the descriptive research design. It was participated in by the science teachers in six (6) the public secondary level schools of the Division of Quezon City in the National Capital Region using the simple random sampling technique. The descriptive statistics such as frequency, mean and percentage were used to summarize the results. The test of difference of the mean and Pearson rho test of relationships among variables were utilized. The result showed that most of the respondents are science teachers with Bachelor's Degree, with more than ten years of teaching experience in Science, major in General Science and Biology, and majority of them have attended two or more trainings related to the K to 12 Program. Most of the science teachers employed class discussion, oral presentation and problem-based discussion and laboratory experiments. The teachers evaluated their teaching capabilities in the five areas of competencies namely; communication skills, social skills, mastery of the subject matter, classroom management and instructional strategies as highly competent. The lack of chemicals for experiments and internet access were the two common problems encountered and identified by the respondents. A significant difference in teaching competencies based on the respondents profile was observed. However, there was no significant difference between teaching competence and educational attainment of the respondents. A highly correlated relationship pairs was observed between social skills and learning outputs, classroom management and learning activities, instructional strategies and learning outputs. There was a high correlation between competency and degree of implementation of K to 12 Spiral Curriculum. An Enhanced SB-INSET Design was proposed by the researcher as a significant contribution to the field of Science Education ER -
