ABSTRACT: Prolonged standing is required as part of the job of teachers or professors. It is one way of teaching efficiently; as a consequence of this condition, they are prone to have Musculosketal Disorders of MSDs such as low back pain, shoulder pain, neck pain, knee, and leg pain. This study focused on the most common musculosketal complaints of the PLM professors. The purpose of this study was to determine the common musculosketal complaints among the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila professors due to prolonged standing. It aimed to identify the profile variables which affect the complaints of the subjects. There were forty-five professors from different colleges who participated in this study. The researchers used as descriptive type of survey method to determine to gather data to be able to determine the common musculosketal complaints of the respondents. The results were analyzed statistically using IBM SPSS Statistics Data Editor Version 19. It revealed that in the anterior part of the body, their most common complaint was knee pain that occurs rarely on the posterior part of the body; their most common complaint was low back pain that occurs occasionally. The least common complaint/s on the anterior body part were hip, thigh and foot pain while on the posterior body part was thigh pain. Also, cramping pain ( with the pain scale from 3-6) was the most description of their pain which usually lasts for 30 minutes to 1 hour after their work. The Researchers also enumerated possible Physical Therapy Interventions - prevention and management such as physical modalities, massage exercises and patient education about proper body mechanics for such complaints.
