ABSTRACT: The purpose of the study was to describe the daily rearing experiences of parents nurturing a child with autism. In describing the lived experiences of the co-participants; was utilized descriptive phenomenological approach that provided a rich description of participants view on how it is to rear a child with autism. We sought to unify the experiences of the co-participants to identify the breadth of their lived world. The appropriateness of our sample was attained through purposive sampling. In addition, adequacy of our participants was strictly observed in order to ascertain the saturation of our data. Semi structures or focused interview was utilized in this study. Prior to that, the participants were given the chance to talk freely about their experiences from the time they accepted their child's situation, their daily rearing, challenges and adaptations, and their perception and feeling with regards to their role as a parent. The data obtained were recorded and encoded subsequently, and were generated into eighteen (18) themes in total. Some of the same themes were merged after discussion and deliberation, which were later reduced to four (4) major themes. The first major theme was the Ingredients in daily caring: patience and sacrifice having subthemes of : (1) a handful of patience, and (2) a pinch of sacrifice. The next theme was the Daily challenges in rearing a child with autism, under this theme were the following subthemes: (1) physical difficulties, (2) financial difficulties, and (3) worries about the future. Under the third major theme of Daily adaptation in rearing a child with autism, with a subthemes: (1) Daily empowerment through support system. Finally, the fourth major theme was Fulfilment through everyday passion. The abovementioned results propose a beginning understanding of the structure that comprises the rearing experiences of parents that has a child with autism. The results of the study are harmonious and in congruence with the existing research literature. Innovation of new insights on the underpinnings of the rearing experiences of parents that has child with autism were offered, and this was made feasible by triangulating research findings with nursing and allied health literature, as well as that of social sciences.
