It focused on the lived experiences of the older Filipino people in Luwalhati ng Maynila, Manila Boystown Complex, Marikina City. Sixteen participants, whose age ranged from 60-85 years old, with the male comprising the majority of them, have undergone a voice-recorded interview as participants of the research but only the data from 10 participants were included in the study. A purposive sampling was used to identify the participants. An approach of qualitative research design was used in this study and Colaizzi's (1978) process of data analysis was utilized. The findings of the study revealed four themes and eight sub-themes. These were: Theme No. 1: Reminiscing the Past Subthemes: a. Grasping onto Details b. Painful Memories Recalled c. Mistakes in the Past, Wisdom at Present Theme No. 2: Living a Sustained Life at the Haven Subthemes: a. Finding Refuge b. The Filipino Way of Belonging c. All set for the Inevitable Ed Theme No. 3: Sense of Responsibility of Old Age Subthemes: a. Sense of Responsibility to Self b. Sense of Responsibility Theme No. 4: Faith in God as Daily Source of Strength It can be concluded that the institutionalized older people have found contentment in their life inside the institution. The financial, physical, social, emotional, and spiritual emptiness they have before were fulfilled. They found refuge inside the facility. In relation to the results and findings of our research in the lived experiences of an older people inside the institution, it is recommended for the health care team/health care professionals to continue supporting the institutionalized older people in terms of health issues. Also, it is recommended for the administrative staff of Luwalhati ng Maynila toestablish more recreational activities that can help the older people to build rapport with each other ER -
