The study wanted to find out the different scales used in terms of relationship styles and stress coping strategies and the relationship that exists between the two. Moreover, the study sought to examine if there is a significant difference between the respondents relationship styles and stress coping strategies when grouped according to age. The study used the descriptive type of research using correlational design which was used to identify the relationship that exists between relationship styles and stress coping strategies. The participants utilized the Relationship Scale Questionnaire (RSQ) to measure relationship styles which was developed by Dr. DW Griffin and Dr. Kim Bartholomew (1994) from the Department of Psychology of Simon Fraser University in Canada and the Ways of Coping Questionnaire (WCQ) to measure stress coping strategies which was authored by Dr. Susan Folkman and Dr. Richard S. Lazarus (1983) of the University of California, San Francisco, CA, USA. Findings revealed that the seafarers' relationship styles show a verbal interpretation of Somewhat Like Me in which respondents have somewhat identified themselves a bit in one of the four relationship styles and dismissing has the highest mean score which showed seafarers to have a positive self-model but negative model towards other seafarers. Stress coping strategies has a verbal interpretation of used somewhat in which all the identified coping strategies, the respondents would have used these skills somewhat or to some extent. In all the skills, accepting responsibility, planning problem solving and self-controlling are the categories majority of the respondents have somewhat used or employed. The study showed that the respondents have indicated Escape Avoidance as the least used coping style. When grouped according to age, it showed no significant difference exist between groups when it comes to the Relationship Styles and Stress Coping Strategies. The results suggest that age as a variable does not have an impact on the Stress Coping Strategies among the seafarers. Scales on stress coping strategies showed significant relationship on most of the scales for the relationship styles in which it was indicated that almost every coping skill they have used somewhat is related to one or two of their style of relationship they indicated to be somewhat like them. Based on the results of the study, a seafarers training program has been designed. The training program consists of an Assessment Phase that consists of interview, psychological test, behavior observation and counseling therapy while the training phase consists of learning sessions that aim to provide group interaction and learning seminars on relations wellness and stress coping management ER -
