N2  - ABSTRACT    The study entitled Coastal Road Extension Project: A Study on the Effects on the Pamamalakaya and Pagbabaklad of Brgy. Samala-Marquez is video production thesis that tackled the effects of construction of a national project, Coastal Road Extension Project on the livelihood, specifically pamamalakaya (open water fishing) and pagbabaklad (fishing through fish pens) of Brgy. Samala-Marquez, Kawit, Cavite.     The documentary unfolds the different situations of the community through the lives of three (3) participants of the study, as the aftermath of the ongoing said project. Additionally, interviews with the Municipal Hall of Kawit to which Brgy. Samala-Marquez belongs as a constituent and collaboration with the City Engineer's Office who heads the monitoring of the location and the project; as well as UEM-MARA Philippine Corp. (UMPC) which owns and operates the construction of the project significantly composed the government side of the study. Together with the plans and goals to bring in industrialization and accessibility to the rapidly progressing province of Cavite, the Coastal Road Extension Project serves as a hallmark to this. However, this same development project is considered a hindrance to the accustomed livelihood of smalltime fisher folks of Cavite, specifically Brgy. Samala-Marquez of Kawit, which is Pamamalakaya (open water fishing) and Pagbabaklad (fishing in fish pens).  	   The study is made to illustrate how industrialization has its pros and cons to the people, for instance, small time fisher folks of a barangay whose primary source of income is fishing. Self empowerment and openness to changes in the way of life is also being considered with regards to the residents as well as the role of the government in these situations to present information without biases
