ABSTRACT: This study investigated the relationship between demographic profiles, emotional competence, and workload stress. This study was conducted in a bank centralized accounting operations division located in Intramuros, Manila, Philippines, with 100 employees including staff and officers serving as participants. Emotional competence was measured using the Emotional Competence Inventory (ECI), while workload stress was measured using the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) Management Standards Indicator tool. Demographic data such as age, gender, civil status, and tenure was obtained by incorporating the items in the consolidated questionnaire used in this study. The result of this study concluded that: first, there is no significant relationship (p<0.05) between the demographic profile and workload stress of the respondents. Secondly, There is no significant relationship (p<0.05) between the demographic profile and emotional competence of the respondents except for emotional competence in terms of achievement and change catalyst where moderate positive relationship (p<0.05) was determined. And lastly, there is a marked significant relationship (p<0.05) when support was correlated with developing others, inspirational leadership, influence and teamwork and collaboration. Based on the data gathered, a proposed career enhancement program was derived from the result of this study, which includes specific suggested activities. In addition, a training outline for a potential training program on team building was prepared. Finally, it was recommended that further research be conducted to strengthen empirical evidence on the relevance of emotional competence and workload stress be conducted to correlate with metrics that are relevant in today's business such as job satisfaction and job loyalty.
