ABSTRACT: This descriptive research was undertaken to assess the status of elderly care welfare facilities of six center in Anyang City, South Korea. The proponent utilized researcher-made questionnaire validated by experts and it sought answers to the level of assessment of the respondents on the elderly welfare facilities. It also surveyed the level of satisfaction of the respondents on the environment, professional services, care services, facilities and opportunity for education and recreation. There exist a significant difference on the level of satisfaction of staff and clients in terms of environment, professional services, care services, facilities and opportunity. For the problems encountered by staff and clients on climate and environment, the clients find it disturbing when there are others making noise while the staff considered it difficult to encourage the clients to socialize. In terms of professional services, they both agreed that the clients are satisfied with the care given to them. In the area of kinds of facilities, both the clients and staff agreed that bigger area for socialization is needed. Finally, both clients and staff considered discussion sessions among clients must be encouraged. Since a significant difference exist on the respondents responses, a careful assessment of elderly care facilities in all the aspects covered in this study is hereby recommended. A proposed prototype elderly care program served as an output of this research.
