- Design Project: (Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering) - Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila, 2018
ABSTRACT: The government is slowly implementing the PUV Modernization Program by phasing out the old jeepney for they are harmful to our environment. With this, some jeepney operators have modernized their jeepneys to meet the government’s PUV modernization program. This modernized jeepneys traveling along Buendia to Kalayaan Avenue and vice versa. They are larger than the regular jeepneys and come with air-conditioner. In light of this, the proponents decided to invent a Passenger Counter for these modernized jeepneys. The passenger counter is not a new invention for transportation worldwide but for the Philippines it is. It can generate statistics for monitoring the volume of passengers being serviced by the public utility vehicle and provide hard data for arranging time tables for a fleet of vehicles. The existing passenger counter in the Philippines may not have provided ideal results but it gave the expected results of how it can provide knowledge on both parties, passengers and driver or operators but even if it achieved its functionality, overloading of passengers still cannot be fixed. The passengers still cannot be fixed. The passenger counter can also be used in buses which share the same type of built of the modern jeepne
