In the hospitality industry, candidates with a combination of practical skills, knowledge, experience, and credentials are the ones with a high probability of reaching the pinnacle of their careers. In relation to this, researchers were encouraged by some of their professors to take as many National Certification II as possible, with the expectation that they will be able to acquire all the benefits mentioned above. Hence, researchers came up with this study aiming to explore the opportunities enjoyed and challenges faced by the NC II Holders among Hospitality Management graduates from Lyceum of the Philippines-Manila, School Year 2022-2023 when it comes to their respective careers. This became possible by conducting two data gathering methods: qualitative interview for focus group and quantitative survey for the target respondents. To put it simply, the survey questionnaire for the target respondents was derived from the focus group interview. The results from the survey were analyzed using descriptive statistics. The researchers also employed Cronbach's Alpha to ensure the reliability of the outcome from the questionnaire and to prove that it is relevant and helpful to the study. The study reveals that NC II can give a BSHM degree holder various opportunities when it comes to career competencies. Despite having some opportunities, there are also minor challenges that NC II holders are facing in their workplace such as having internal pressure from high expectations. In addition, based on the results of the survey, most NC II holders also consider upskilling to higher levels of national certification to gain more opportunities. These findings suggest that, although there are minor challenges, National Certification II can significantly help BSHM students in terms of their career competencies and advancement ER -
