As stated by Le Masurier and Corbin, Quality physical education represents the best opportunity to provide all children with physical activity experiences that promote physical activity now and for a lifetime. Additionally, there is extensive scientific evidence supporting the role of physical activity in preventing disease and promoting a healthy lifestyle, so the concept of instilling positive attitudes toward lifetime physical activity is an important one for this profession. Unfortunately, in recent years even more inappropriate physical education games and practices have had to he inducted into the Physical Education Hall of Shame, so that physical educators can understand why such activities are to be avoided and they can become more reflective and thoughtful practitioners of their profession.
