The author focuses on the reasons why people became, and remain, fans of U2. The research was conducted with a group of U2 fans who downloaded between 5 and 200 gigabytes of sound recordings from U2 concerts. The article also found that the fans who collected U2 concert recordings were highly likely to have recommended the band U2 to their friends. While not all the fans agreed with the political positions of lead singer Bono, more than 80% believed that he should feel free to express his views in concerts.; 5 ER -
