The result of the study served as the basis for researchers culture - based model of social development. There were forty - three (43) respondents from the Tagakaulo families from whom six (6) major informants were selected to give details of their situation. Using a phenomenological approach, the study described and analyzed the reasons for the displacement of the kaulo tribe, their new environment, particularly in relation to ancestral domain, livelihood, education and cultural identity, and the strategies they employed and continue to employ to preserve their indigenous practices; 5 ER -
