About 20% mole of Sb204 is shown to have excellent activity for partial oxidation of ethanol to acetaldehyde and acetic acid at 280oC. There is complete ethanol conversion up to 20 mole % Sb204, increase in W/F increases selectivity towards acetic acid. Further increase in the proportion of Sb204 shows increase in selectivity towards acetaldehyde whereas there is no substantial change towards the selectivity of acetic acid.; 5 ER -
