ABSTRACT: The arrival time density of a ballistic particle (projected towards the turning point) is determined using a general form of Kijowski's distribution. For given parameter values, two asymmetric peaks of the arrival time density are obtained, each arising respectively from the amplitudes for positive and negative momenta of the particle. These peaks represent the most probable arrival times before (for positive momentum) and after (for negative momentum) the classical arrival time. The features of the arrival time density such as its peaks and amplitude are shown to vary with the particle's mass for a given initial position uncertainty.
