ABSTRACT: Individuality and lifestyle is essential. The researcher underwent this study on the increasing number of single individuals in the Philippines. Most studies reviewed on stress focus more on levels of stress, stressors and coping mechanisms. Specifically, this study aimed to find out the following: 1.

What are the stressors of the Filipino single? 2.

What are the manifestations of the Filipino single on stress? 3.

What are their self-management styles? 4.

What are their communal support groups? 5.

Based on the findings, what psychological program could be developed to enhance the life of Filipino single? It is a descriptive survey study and the development of an enhancement program for the identified problems. The study focused mainly on the stressors, manifestations of stress, self-management styles and communal support groups. The stressors conferred to the family, workplace, society and personhood. The manifestations are comprised of personal, financial, career/ professional, physical, interpersonal, emotional and sexual factors. The self-management styles included are self-acceptance, multiple inquisitive and consciousness, multiple responses, social and individuality acceptance, and intellectual aspirations. The purposive sampling technique was utilized on two hundred (200) professional single and never married respondents living and working within Metro Manila aged 30-60y/o. The Stress Questionnaire for Filipino Singles (SQFS) was developed and evaluated. The mean score determined the statistical significance of the highest and lowest variables on the manifestations of stress and self-management style respectively. Frequency and percentage distribution determined the highest variable in stressors and the lowest variables on communal support groups. Herefrom, the development of enhancement program was derived. In view of the findings the following are the conclusions: 1.

The environment or the people that surround the single individual is very important in one's existence and happiness. Single individuals perceived themselves as a lonely person because of what the society dictates. 2.

Single individuals are experiencing difficulties in managing their personal and family fiancés. The biggest obligation of the respondents which makes them stressful is the enormous financial responsibilities. 3.

Single individual usually do not seek support from their other colleagues when stressful situations occur. 5.

The stressor related to society is the common stressor for the development of Enhancement Program for Social Flexibility. In the stressors related to society, Society perceived singles as less serious individuals became the basis for Enhancement Program for Happiness. In terms of manifestations of stress, financial related factor proposed the Enhancement Program for Financial Stability. Feelings of Inadequacy, served as the proposed Enhancement Program for Familial Support, On the self-management styles, Intellectual Styles proposed the Enhancement Program for Intellectual Styles. I try to engage in intellectual stimulations for psycho-social enhancement, developed the Enhancement Program for Self-Reflection. The communal support group having other colleagues as the lowest comprised the Enhancement Program for Communal Support Groups.
