_aEXECUTIVE SUMMARY Business Description In this feasibility study, the researchers aim to start a business venture that uses jackfruit seeds as the new primary ingredient in chocolate bars. The name of the firm is Jack O' Laté which is from the combination of the word jackfruit and chocolate. Jack O' Laté is a local business located in the City of Manila and is operating because the management wants to discover a substitute ingredient in making chocolates other than cocoa. In the Philippines, cocoa is gradually lacking, and nobody can see the benefits and usage of jackfruit seeds. The people who will benefit from the feasibility study and the business venture are the consumers of chocolates, the Jackfruit farmers, and sellers. It started when Brazilian researchers discovered that jackfruit seed has similarities with cocoa; the result was published in the Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry. In this case, the business partners can come up with the idea of creating a business venture that would focus on utilizing jackfruit seeds specifically in making chocolates. Before Jackfruit seed was underutilized and considered waste, the Jack O' Laté partnership decided to make this chocolate bar using jackfruit seeds as the primary ingredient in making this product. In addition, the seeds have vital nutrients that our bodies need. The demand for chocolate is gradually rising due to the continuously growing population, which is why this product will undoubtedly fulfill the demand for consumers. The proponents believe that producing this chocolate bar will help the food business and benefit many people. Market Analysis This chapter provides information on the competitors of Jack o' Late and their target market. It also describes the data analysis about the demand for chocolate at University Belt consumed by students studying around the area. The supply and demand gap and market shares of the product that the local firm would sell also described in this chapter. Market Feasibility This chapter discusses the different marketing strategies to be used by the owners and crucial details about the domestic chocolate market's supply and demand. It also provides information about the business's geographical location, product and pricing strategy, positioning, and branding. Technical Feasibility In this part, the researchers focus on explaining the production process of Jack O' Late, the list of machinery, equipment, and supplies, including the description and cost needed in the production process, the overall operations, and the facilities and layout of the business venture. This aspect will give insights into utilizing jackfruit seeds in creating chocolate bars. It will also provide ideas on the cost for operations and an analysis of the business layout since it will benefit the business venture. Management Feasibility This aspect discusses the administrative portion of the study when establishing a business. Jack O Late will be owned and operated by the partnership of graduate students of Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila. Each owner will have equal contributions to the capital used for equipment and operations. This part also provides information about the business personnel requirements, qualification standards, and company policies that ensure the business's success. Financial Feasibility This part gives the business the financial information, including the amount of capitalization each partner would contribute, all the expenses used for the operations, and other financial information about the business. This part helps to identify if the study is profitable and feasible as this provides results for projected sales, profit, and the projected time when each partner's investment would return. Additionally, in this aspect, business partners aim to balance everything, especially the cash flow and liabilities of the business venture. Socio-Economic Feasibility This aspect provides information on how business owners will address current problems arising from society and provide ideas and possible solutions for these problems. Furthermore, this part explains the forecasted relationship of the business with the people and its respective government. It also includes details on how the Jack O' Late Business Venture will provide different contributions to the government, economy, and society that benefit the business and the country.
