_aABSTRACT: The Alocasia genus, which can be found across Asia and Oceania, has been traditionally applied for various ethnomedicinal and horticultural uses. Despite its extensive distribution, however, there is still limited studies conducted regarding the pharmacological properties and bioactive potential induced by its chemical constituents. In this systematic review, the taxonomic profile, traditional and ethnomedicinal uses, geographic distribution, phytochemical constituents, and biological activities of Alocasia species endemic in the Philippines are reported. New compounds were isolated from the species of this genus and a total of 201 compounds were recorded to be present in the endemic species. It was also reported that various Alocasia species exhibit analgesic, antibacterial, antioxidant, antifungal, anti-cancer, anti-inflammatory, wound-healing, hepatoprotective, anthemintic, antidiabetic, antidiarrheal, and cytotoxic properties. The pharmacokinetic profile of the identified phytochemicals and its potential for future pharmacological applicability were also further confirmed and elucidated through in silico ADME-T and drug-likeness prediction on online webservers.
