_aABSTRACT: Various technological advances in the previous decades and centuries transformed people's lives. The discovery and invention of computers, cellphones and other digital gadgets has relieved in doing human and even business activities almost effortless and more accessible. In the aspect of telecommunication commerce, education and even the everyday routines of ordinary individuals, the fast-phase technology undoubtedly created a huge impact to alter many Filipinos lifestyles, attitudes and perspectives On a CNN poll conducted on December of 1998, the computer was noted the most revolutionary invention of the century. The introduction of internet and its applications has enabled to keep in touch even to those in faraway places, had made new research and information readily available at one's fingertips and has transformed the world. Computer usage was no longer confined to work-related purposes. People often join Internet, chat rooms and other on-line conferencing for social reasons unrelated to business or education. Simultaneously on the usage of these new innovations is an alarming fact, Internet is also operated for flesh trade or prostitution. This study does not only limits itself to prove the existence of prostitution in the cyber world but also to probe deeper to the reasons why persons immerse themselves in cyber prostitution and its effect not only to the individuals concerned but also to the society and community they also tend to belong. There were 10 cyber prostitutes whose age ranged from 16-23 years old, there were also 10 clients who were around 20-35 years old while on the other hand there were 10 ordinary Internet users whose age bracket was from 20-35 years old. The key participants consisted of women, men, gays, transvestites and bisexuals. The locale of the study was on the several local internet sex chat rooms in order to possibly reach target interviewers from other provinces in the Philippines. The other locale of this research was on various cyber cafes within the University Belt in Manila. The sampling method used was non-probability sampling because in the study it does not need to generalize the other groups or situations but what was vital in the study was to seek on the particular groups of people such as cyber prostitutes and clients. In using non-probability sampling, the researchers have objectives and purposes in pursuing this study wherein they can have key inform that can provide unique insights. The researchers believed that focused interview was highly exploratory. The researchers learned gradually about the informants and the events. For the researchers, the interview was the best way to understand the other person's inner view. Comprehending the essense of an individual his emotions, motivations and needs. A life story interview was conducted to obtain personal narratives; narrating of one's entire life experience but highlighting the most important aspects. Through the focused unstructured interview the researchers had an insight into constructive realities that were unfolded by the participants. It gave a little information about the people and situation. In the study, open-ended question were formulated not only for the researcher to understand the phenomena but also to develop intimate familiarity, and a detailed, dense acquaintance with the interviewers as well. Based on the findings, the researcher forwarded these conclusions. 1. The factors that lead individuals to be cyber prostitutes are perverseness, provides easy money, curiosity and peer influence While the reasons that entice cyber prostitute's to hire services of internet flesh traders are also perverseness, loneliness, easiest way to meet people and peer influence. 2. The persons that commonly pay for the services of on-line prostitutes are local students, local professionals and foreigners. On the other hand, the individuals who sell their bodies in the internet are out of school youth, students and traditional prostitutes. 3. Cyber prostitution in the Philippines takes place on both local and foreign sex chat rooms. The cyber cafes with private rooms with web cam facilities, in their houses using personally owned computer and also through traditional concept of prostitution by meeting personally after engaging in private chatting through the internet. 4. The mode of payment between the cyber prostitutes and their clients are through money transferring, cellphone loads, meet and pay for casual sex and also depositing payments in the prostitute's bank account. The participation in cyber prostitutes has tremendous effects on the persons concern in terms of the following aspects. Physically; there is sexual gratification for the physiological need of sex as stated in Maslow's hierarchy of needs and also sexually transmitted diseases are possible due to engagement in casual sex through to some it has no effect. Emotionally; guilt feeling is present, some feel sexually exploited and there is also a sense of companionship, love and belongingness which indicates the third level of the ladder of needs (love and belongingness needs). Psychologically; tend to be figure conscious, paranoia, dependency on the internet, low self-esteem and to some boost of self esteem which meets the fourth hierarchy, esteem needs. The effect of cyber prostitution on the society is the loss of moral standards among its members.
