505 _aABSTRACT: Blowfish is a variable-length key, 64-bit block cipher. The algorithm consists of two parts: a key-expansion part and a data-encryption part. Key expansion converts a key of at most 448 bits into several subkey arrays totalling 4168 bytes. Blowfish is a variable-length key block cipher. It does not meet all the requirements for a new cryptographic standard discussed above: it is only suitable for applications where the key does not change often, like a communication link or an automatic file encryptor. The main purpose of this study is to enhance the process of existing Blowfish Algorithm used in peer-to-peer file sharing application and to reduce the number of entries in the sbox. This study also features on enhancing the speed and complexity of the algorithm by modifying one of its functions, namely the F Function. Lastly, this study would improve the key dependency of the Blowfish Algorithm that will make the plaintext affected by the key. Several survey questionnaires has been done to this study just to come up with a better version of Blowfish algorithm than in the existing system. However, after several tests, the enhanced algorithm came up with a better capability when it comes to encryption and decryption. After the tests, it is concluded that this study helped a lot in development of the algorithm Broader capability of the algorithm to send secured files in a faster way can greatly help in people who always use encryption and decryption with less memory consumption.
