_b _b _c _aABSTRACT: Interventions that are traditional have proven that it is not only the effective means in addressing needs of educable students who experience challenges in developing social skills as there are often limitations with resources or access to specialized personnel. This research focuses on understanding the challenges faced by educable adolescents diagnosed with mild to moderate Down Syndrome specifically Trisomy 21. The field of AI-enhanced virtual training is explored and harnessed as an approach to further improving social skills within the selected population (Educable students with Down Syndrome). This was done through the development of an AI-enhanced virtual training program called Personalized Quest Generation AI and Natural Language Processing for students with Down Syndrome through a mobile application game titled Ability Quest. The game yields and AI-driven virtual training platform that is tailored made for children with Down syndrome focused on developing their social skills, providing a personalized and adaptive learning experience. As the platform is working with children, the application's feature simulations, and specific inputs are gamified ensuring that it is to engage with and inspire people with Down Syndrome in improving and building their social skills. The study as well assesses the overall workability of the platform in enhancing social skills, self-confidence, and all-around social skills. The system was made with Unity 3D and MongoDB. The main beneficiary of the study are educable students who have Down Syndrome (Players) as the game progression brings forth a digital platform that stimulates real world scenarios that allows them to acquire skill in communication and gain an understanding of interacting with people through completing each of the game's levels. Students now gain ground by being aware with social skills improving their communication and interaction capabilities. The game's effectiveness in developing social skills may be influenced by external factors the study's control. Towards evaluation of the system, the employment of the application showed promising results as the evaluation exhibited positive feedback. The findings of the study are an insight to the convergence of technology and special education as AI and special education applications are in the aspect of continuous growth, understanding of enhanced interventions for individuals with Dwon syndrome that experiences difficulty with communication skills. Ultimately, the study is in pursuit of informing educators and policymakers of the potential of AI enhanced virtual training in supporting social development of students with Down syndrome. _u |
