_b _b _c _aThis study was conducted to determine the occupational health and safety of 47 nurses clinical instructors employed in four selected local universities in Metro Manila as inputs for policy formulation. Sampling technique used was total population, and data were gathered using a self-made survey-questionnaire. Statistical treatments utilized were frequency and percentage distribution, weighted mean, ANOVA, Mann-Whitney U, t-test, and Kendall's tau correlation coefficient. The results showed significant differences in the level of exposure to physical hazards when grouped according to sex, level of exposure to chemical hazards when grouped according to educational attainment, level of incidence of chemical injury when grouped according to age, and level of incidence of biological injury when grouped according to length of service. No significant relationship between level of occupational health and safety encounters and level of workplace security of the respondents was found. Other relevant problems identified by the respondents include those concerning physical environment and current practice (affiliating health institutions); as well as protective equipment/ gadgets, hazard compensation, and health and safety of nurse clinical instructors was developed based on the result of the study. recommendations were made on : individual capability building of nurse clinical instructors; educational institutions' update on existing protocol and proactive implementation or formulation of (lacking) policies; collaboration between educational institutions and affiliating health institutions; proactive involvement of lawmakers; and relevant studies to be conducted in the future. _u |
