_b _b _c _aABSTRACT. Backgound: Evidence Based Practice has been currently used in the clinical setting among clinicians. Evidences support that the use of all processes promotes improved patient outcomes and contributes to high quality patient care. However, in the PH setting, Gorgon (2013) states in his study, that there is an overall absence of authority , skill, training of clinicians among faculty members that would establish competence in EBP in the academic setting. Subsequently, there are very few literatures on the use of Evidence based Practice among Physical therapy staff in the clinical setting in the country. Purpose: his study aims to determine the self-reported frequency of use, degree of attitude and current skills in the use of evidence based practice of clinical staffs in Manila and Quezon City. This study also relates the years of experience, specialization and membership in organization with clinical staffs' attitude, use and skill towards the use of EBP in the clinical setting. Methods: A cross sectional, descriptive study was conducted using a purposive sample of Physical Therapy staff based in Manila and Quezon city. Data ware gathered by distribution of Modified Clinical Effectiveness and Evidence Based Practice Questionnaire. Results: The respondents were 53.4% female and 46.6% male. Majority (78%) are aged between 20-31 years old and have been working for more than 3 years (62.7%). Most respondents (29.7%) specialized in musculoskeletal rehabilitation. While the frequency with which respondents reported performing each of the six steps of EBP ranged from newer to frequently, results revealed (Table 2) that participants most frequently answered to occasionally using each EBP process. Participants viewed EBP positively as manifested by 99.2% believing that evidence based practice is fundamental to professional practice. _u |
