_aABSTRACT: This descriptive-quantitative investigation was conducted to determine the level of compliance of the staff nurses on infection prevention and control protocols in a public hospital in the City of Manila. There were 65 samples drawn on a quota sampling from the total population of the nine nurse stations. The staff nurses were rated by nurse-respondents themselves, by their supervisors, and by the researcher using a validated researcher-made instrument. It was hypothesized that there are no significant differences among the three raters and on the rating of staff nurses when grouped according to sex, length of service and area of assignment. The statistical tools employed are mean, T-test and one-way ANOVA. The Levene's test of homogeneity and Scheffe test of multiple differences were also utilized. The study found that female staff nurses dominated the hospital where the study was conducted, they stayed for a short period of time being a staff nurses, and there is a good staffing pattern is observed in the hospital. Moreover, the staff nurses in the hospital where this study was carried out are highly compliant with infection prevention and control protocols. Moreover, male staff nurses are significantly more compliant than their female counterparts; length of service has bearing on staff nurses compliance, while the staff nurses of the three specialized sections LR, NICU, and PICU are significantly more compliant that the other nurse sections in the hospital. Finally, the ratings of the supervisors and the researcher are significantly different from the self-ratings of the nurse respondents.
