_aABSTRACT: Spiritually/religion and wellness were found to have strong connections. Studies on this topic have resulted in creating Wellness Programs in churches in many countries around the world, with health professionals like nurses working together with church leaders such as pastors, in rendering holistic care in a continuous and professionalized program called Parish Nursing or Faith Community Nursing. Yet, the Philippines, a country with natural religiosity and a deep sense of spirituality, does not have such organized programs established within the church. Or if they have any, these are not recognized as such. This study is the ground work of a vision for establishing organized wellness programs in Philippine churches with a more holistic approach that could contribute to healthier communities. Using a qualitative exploratory design, three pastors, two church members and two nurses (a total of seven (7) participants) were individually interviewed to explore their perceptions and concerns in linking faith and wellness in the church. These seven (7) participants, all affiliated with a Bord Again religious sect in a particular place in the Philippines, were selected using the purposive sampling as a method. Four (4) propositions that came out of the theoretical framework of the study guided the researcher in coming up with interview questions, and a more organized result of data analysis. Data were analyzed using a General Inductive Approach that uses coding as a way to discover themes and key findings. Five (5) essential themes emerged from the analysis. These were: 1. The O-K-A of Faith, 2. The Christian Wellness, 3. Faith in God Precedes Wellness, 4. Faith in God Caters to Wellness Activities through the Church, and 5. Enlightenment towards a Sustainable Wellness Program. These themes validated the strong links between faith and wellness in the church, as well as the roles church leaders and health professionals play in strengthening the link. Unique definitions of faith and wellness also stemmed out of the insights of the Christian participants who were interviewed. A parallelism using the Espresso Phenomenon as a model was used to illustrate the dynamic link between faith and wellness. The findings imply an urgent need to initiate a more organized and sustainable programs in churches where an integration of faith and wellness concepts could be as it was seen to be helpful in building healthier communities.
