_aABSTRACT: The aim of the study was to describe the relationship between the level of active listening skills and the conflict management style of the charge nurses in the specialty units of a tertiary hospital in Makati City as a basis for a program. The study utilized a quantitative approach where the primary data was gathered using a standardized instrument in a questionnaire tool design. Results were presented by means of descriptive group statistics and correlations. The respondents of the study were the fifty-five (55) charge nurses who are presently employed in specialty units of Makati Medical Center namely Cancer Center, Cardiovascular Recovery Room, Delivery Room, Emergency Department, Kidney Unit, and Newborn Services, Oncology Unit, Operating Room, Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, Medical Surgical Intensive Care Unit, Endoscopy Unit and Telemetry. The demographic profile of the charge nurses in the specialty units who participated in the study shows that majority or 96% belongs to the age range of 22-35 years of age (young adulthood). While 73% are female. As to the respondents length of work experience as staff nurse 55% of the population have 2 years to less than 5 years. And 67% of the respondents have less than two years of work experience as charge nurse. The level of Active Listening Skills (ALS) of charge nurses in the specialty units of a tertiary hospital in Makati was classified as high-level; where 69% of respondents garnered a total score of 31-45 in terms of listening skills which has the qualitative interpretation of high-level listening skills. Meanwhile, the conflict management style of charge nurses in the specialty units of a tertiary hospital in Makati was observed that 65% utilized accommodating style at a high level followed by 49% utilized Avoiding at high level as well. Collaborating style was at the middle level of utilization, 60% of the charge nurses uses competing at the middle level. And 45% had a high level utilization with compromising style of conflict management. The result revealed that significant difference exists between the two groups (male and female) in terms of Maintaining Interest. Maintaining interest and competing have significant relationship with computed value of .0300 and so with the total score of ALS and competing with a computed value of 0.292. Based on the result of the study, there is a need to create awareness among first level managers as to the relationship active listening skills in our conflict management styles. The recommendation to create a program on communication to enhance the nurse's awareness on the different style of conflict management with help them further improve their listening skills,
