_aABSTRACT: The study looked into the relationship of the emotional wellness and academic achievement. It specifically sought to find out the level of academic achievement of level III and level IV nursing students in terms of their general weighted average in all nursing subject. It also determined the level of emotional wellness of the level III and level IV nursing students in the following indicative areas communicating emotions; emotional fluency; flexibility and balance; self-esteem. In addition, the study also verified significant relationship between the emotional wellness and academic achievement of nursing students, and also the difference between the emotional wellness of level III and level IV. The ex-post facto research design was used to compare the academic achievement and emotional wellness of the level III and level IV nursing students and utilized the modified Emotional Wellness Test developed from the behavioral indicator list of Value Oriented Competency Based Education for Lifelong Learning (VOCBELL) which consist of statements grouped according to Communicating Emotions, Emotional Fluency, Flexibility and Balance, and Self Esteem. The study was conducted in the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Pasig and a purposive sampling method was used were in inclusion criteria were set. The population specifically consists of 72 level III students and 79 level IV students. Statistical treatments that applied for this study were as follows: percentage distribution, weighted mean, Pearson r and t-test. Majority of the level III attained a grade which ranges from 2.26-2.50 that accounts to 52.78% or 38 of the the total number of population which is interpreted as satisfactory. On the other hand, majority of the level IV attained a grade which ranges from 2.26-2.50 that accounts to 48.10% or 38 of the total number of population which is interpreted as satisfactory. The study concludes that there is no significant relationship between the level of emotional wellness and academic achievement of the student's understudy. Thus, emotional wellness does not affect the academic achievement of the student. In terms of the four emotional wellness indicators, it is appealing to recognize that all areas of emotional wellness received a weighted mean which is interpreted as high level of emotional wellness. The researcher recommends the nursing education to make use of the student's high level of emotional wellness to develop strategies that will raise academic performance. Educators should also determine how the student perceives the advantages of having high emotional wellness level to modify interventions that would be much applicable to the individualized need of each student academically. Also, students are recommended a participation to an emotional wellness program that will provide personal growth and further develop positive attitude towards academic excellence. On the other hand, the researcher recommends the faculty to gain insight of the clear picture of emotional background as to family, financial, and cultural growth and development. Lastly, the researcher recommends that the study be replicated in a larger population, which may include all universities in Metro Manila that offers Bachelor of Science in Nursing in order to give more strength to the results of the study. Also, the researcher recommends that the respondents be specified according to their age, gender and family to further assess if such demographic data affects their emotional wellness and their level of performance.
