_aABSTRACT. This study attempted to determine the spiritual beliefs and practices of nurses in two (2) selected government and two (2) selected private hospitals in Metro Manila. The researcher tested if there is a significant relationship between the spiritual beliefs and spiritual practices of nurses and the delivery of nursing care utilizing the phases of the nursing process; and if there is a significant relationship between the demographic profile and the spiritual practices of the nurses. The descriptive correlational-method was employed in the study. A total of one hundred thirty three nurses (133) were taken from two (2) selected government and two (2) selected private hospitals. Purposive sampling was utilized in choosing the respondents. The data were gathered through questionnaire checklist, unstructured interviews and documentary analyses. The data gathered were processed using the statistical software version 6 packages for the statistical measures: percentage, weighted means, and chi-square. Profile data showed that majority of the respondent's were female, married, below 30 years old, and have a length of nursing practice below five (5) years. Roman Catholic Religious affiliation was predominant among respondents. The extent of the spiritual beliefs of nurses was very high. The extent of the spiritual practices of nurses was high. The extent to which nurses delivered nursing care was very satisfactory. The testing of hypothesis at 0.05 level of significance established a significant relationship between the spiritual beliefs of nurses and the delivery of nursing care of nursing care utilizing the phases of the nursing process. The spiritual practices of nurses were also found to be significantly correlated with the delivery of nursing care. The age profile was significantly correlated with listening to spiritual songs and consulting spiritual adviser for guidance and vent feelings. The gender was significantly correlated with honesty in work and in dealing with others. The civil status was significantly correlated with listening to spiritual songs. The length of nursing practice was significantly correlated with observing fasting. The religious affiliation was significantly correlated with memorizing verses from the bible. Based on the findings of the study it is recommended that nurses should continue current practices in delivering a very satisfactory care to patient and on basic nursing education of nurses, increased attention should be given to the spiritual perspective of the nurses. It is also recommended that strategies be proposed for increasing the nurse's effectiveness while caring for patient such as awareness of their personal values, spiritual beliefs and spiritual practices.
