And 5) Based on the results of the study, what possible output can be proposed to enhance the perception of the students regarding their competency. The study was limited only to one clinical area, the Pediatric Ward, and did not include the relationship of gender and age in gauging the perception of the respondents. The descriptive method, non-experimental design, was used as the research design. 20% of the total number of BSN III students was utilized as the population of the study and was determined by using purposive sampling. A self-assessment tool was distributed among 39 out of 172 BSN III students to gather data. After consolidation, results were statistically treated using frequency, percentage, weighted mean and T-test. Also, the results were compared to their respective RLE grade obtained from their respective RLE grade obtained from their clinical instructor. Results show that of the 30 questions listed on the survey questionnaire, the cognitive aspect ranked first with a weighted mean of 4.15, followed by the effective aspect with 4.38 and lastly, the psychomotor aspect with a weighted mean of 4.36. Among the 3 domains. The effective is found to be the highest with the mean of. 4.028. followed by the cognitive aspect having the mean of 3.93. The psychomotor aspect of the respondents ranked as the lowest with 3.874358974 as its calculated mean. Furthermore, a significant difference was noted between the perceived clinical skill competency and their clinical performance. Also, based on the result of the study, the competencies of the respondents were assessed as follows: the effective aspect was noted as the strength of the level III nursing students while the psychomotor aspect appears to be the weakest aspect of the students clinical performance. Proposed programs were also raised to give emphasis on the assessed competencies of the respondents.
