_aABSTRACT: The purpose of this study is to measure the level of awareness on the causes, clinical signs and symptoms, and prevention of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome of PLM employees or faculty members with direct access to computers. This study is a Descriptive Research design. The sample of the study was determined by using Universal sampling. Universal sampling is a type of non-probability sampling that makes use of subjects that meets the criteria for the people you are interested in studying (Wood, Ross 2006). Non-probability sampling is a method of getting the sample of the population without using a randomized method. The researchers gathered data from PLM faculty members and employees with jobs involving usage of the computer for hours. The data was gathered by using the Five Point Likert scale which is a standardized questionnaire. The total number of the respondents is 120 that represent the population of employees and facilities in different offices in Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila that have direct access on computers. Each respondent will be given questionnaires which have four parts. The first part would be focusing on the demographic profile of the respondents asking theim of their age, gender, civil status, occupation, handedness, and presence of trauma to hand or wrist; hours spent in using the computer during their work. Second part would consist of 10 questions pertaining to the level of awareness on the causes of CTS. The third part focuses on the level of awareness on signs and symptoms of CTS. Lastly, questions about the level of awareness of preventions of CTS. In gathering the data, the researchers first surveyed the population of each office in PLM then, determined the method of sampling and instrument that was used in the study, added questions pertaining to the demographic profile of the respondents, hours spent in using the computer during their work, presence of trauma to wrist or hand, occupation, handedness and civil status. Created a letter of request that was given to each office that the researchers planned to survey. Conducted the survey for each office and gathered the data acquired. Based on the data gathered, the researcher establish that majority of the respondents are Female with age range from 31-35 years old, married, employees of PLM that spent 4-6 hours in using computers, right handed and without a history of trauma to the wrist and hand and that the respondents has average level of awareness on causes of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome with a total mean of 2.76, high level of awareness on the Clinical sign and symptoms of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome with a total mean of 3.5 and average level of awareness on the preventions of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome with a total mean of 3.24. The researchers recommend the respondents to increase their level of awareness on causes clinical sign and symptoms and preventions of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome by reading pamphlets and articles.
