_aABSTRACT: This study aimed to determine and describe the satisfaction of nursing care rendered to elderly clients with stage II pressure ulcers as perceived by the clients and significant others as basis for protocol enhancement. This study sought answer to the questions: First: know the level of satisfaction of nursing care rendered to elderly clients with stage II pressure ulcer as perceived by the clients and significant others in term of Physiological, Security Emotional; secondly determined the significant relationship between the level of satisfaction in the nursing care rendered to elderly clients with Stage II pressure ulcers in terms of physiological, security and emotional aspects of care and the significant difference between the level of satisfaction in nursing care of elderly client and significant others in terms of physiological, security and emotional. Finally, develop enhancement activities base on the existing protocol of the hospital. The study covered 50 chosen respondents composed of 25 elderly clients with stage II pressure ulcer who were confined Batangas Regional Hospital during the period of March-May 2010. The other 25 respondents were composed of the significant others who took part in the care management during the hospitalization period. The descriptive method of research was used in this study. A researcher-constructive questionnaire was utilized to collect the data which were analyzed and interpreted using descriptive and inferential statistics. Findings revealed that the level of satisfaction of nursing care rendered to elderly clients with stage II pressure ulcers as perceived by the clients in terms of physiological respect exhibit a very highly satisfied response. On the contrary, the significant others level of satisfaction of nursing care revealed highly satisfied response to physiological aspect of care. In security and emotional aspect of care, findings revealed that the clients were very highly satisfied compared to significant others that the level of satisfaction of nursing care rendered only to a highly satisfied on the nutrition given and the availability of the nurse to stay with the clients until the enhancement activities of the protocol was focused on both aspect of care; physiological in terms of relieving pressure and nutritional intake and security and emotional aspect of care in terms in the length of time nurses stayed with the clients until they are needed. Based from the findings it concludes that level of satisfaction towards physiological aspect of care are very highly satisfied in terms of clients and significant others respectively. In terms of nutrition, clients were very highly satisfied while on the other hand significant others were only satisfied so that the nutrition of the clients will be given priority. In the level of satisfaction between the clients and significant others, there is a significant difference. In the level of satisfaction of the clients and significant others there is significant relationship that exists between the physiological, security and emotional aspects of care. Protocol enhancement is indeed significant to be pursued because there are identified needs in the study. Recommendations were forward focused in the nursing care management activities emphasizing on regular turning, relieving pressure and nutritional guidelines and adequate nutrition leading to enhancement of hospital protocol for elderly clients with Stage II pressure ulcers.
