_aABSTRACT: To know the key to success of PLM PT graduates is the primary reason why the researchers conducted this research. Academic excellence means striving for the highest intellectual potential of a student by acquiring, adapting and applying one's knowledge leading to mastery of general and specialized knowledge leading to mastery of general and specialized knowledge. Being academically excellent doesn't mean being smart. It means having good focus and concentration on what one is doing. It doesn't necessarily mean having good grades but instead it is the ability of one person to achieve, perform and make an effort in one's studies. Also, it is having the confidence in one's abilities. Grounded theory was used as a method of research because it is used to discover theoretical complete explanations about particular phenomena. The instrument used to collect data is an interview. This is used because it gathers data about the respondents opinion and experiences which will be helpful in the study. The researchers used a purposive sampling. It is based on the belief that the researchers knowledge about the population can be used to hand-pick sample members. The researcher used this sampling to purposely select the respondents who are knowledgeable about the issues on the study. The respondents for the study are the PT board topnotchers from batch 2006-2011. Due to unavailability , busy schedule and technical errors, only 11 respondents were included in this study.
