_aABSTRACT: Complications of pregnancy occurred because of the gap in the sufficient health care knowledge on maternal health among pregnant women. The knowledge road to maternal health has many downsides - and pregnant women in developing countries including the Philippines, particularly those who were less educated and with low socio-economic status, face crucial trade-offs when they attempt to carry out their self-care practices. The main objective of this study was to determine the significant relationship between the extent of health care knowledge and degree of self-care practices on maternal health among pregnant women in Bo. Fugoso Health Center. Specifically, the study answered the demographic profile of the respondents in terms of age, educational attainment, and gross family income. Furthermore, the extent of health care knowledge was also determined in terms of physical and psychological dimension. In addition, the degree of self-care practices was determined in aspects of physical, emotional, spiritual, intellectual, social, relational, and safety and security respectively. Descriptive correlational research was utilized to determine the existing relationship between the health care and self-care practices of the pregnant women regarding maternal health. Purposive sampling was utilized to gather data from the 50 target respondents who were purposively chosen during their scheduled prenatal consultation in Bo. Fugoso Health Center. Moreover, a self-made questionnaire was utilized with three parts including: the demographic profile, the extent of health care knowledge and the degree of self-care practices. Inferential statistical treatments like t-test, analysis of variance and Pearson's r correlation were used to describe the existing relationship among the variables and to test the hypotheses and answer the objectives of this study. The findings gathered in the study revealed that majority of the respondents were 19 to 35 years old, high school graduates, and with an average gross family income less than 5,000 pesos a month considered below the poverty line. The findings affirmed that respondents have a high extent of health care knowledge with the weighted mean of 3.39. In contrast, the degree of self-care practices among pregnant women was in the moderate level with weighted mean of 3.14. In totality, the researchers therefore concluded that using 0.05 level of significance, there was a moderately low correlation between the health care knowledge and self-care practices on maternal health among pregnant women in Bo. Fugoso Health Center. Lastly, the research study developed an output which was a basis for a proposed maternal health care program.
