_aABSTRACT: The present study generally sought to determine the extent of use of copinng strategies, perceived feeling of reward and perceived social support among sixty (60) caregivers of CKD patients undergoing hemodialysis from Ospital ng Maynila Medical Center (OMMC), Gat Andres Bonifacio Memorial Medical Center (GABMMC) and Hermotek Renal Center (HRC), to develop psychosocial interventions for the caregivers of chronic kidney disease (CKD) patients. Specifically, the study attempted to answer the following specific problems: 1) what is the demographic profile of the respondents in terms of gender, age, relationship to patient, civil status, length of care and economic status; 2) what is the extent of coping strategies of the caregivers of CKD patient undergoing Hemodialysis in terms of problem - oriented and effective - oriented subscale; 3) what is the degree of perceived feeling of reward by the caregivers of CKD patients undergoing Hemodialysis; 4) What is the degree of perceived of social support by the caregivers of CKD patients undergoing Hemodialysis in terms of significant others, family and friends; 8) Is there a significant relationship between the extent of use of coping strategies and the degree of perceived feeling of reward of the caregivers of CKD patients; 6: Is there a significant relationship between the extent of use of coping strategies and the degree of perceived social support of the caregivers of CKD patients; 7) Is there significant relationship between the degree of perceived feeling of reward and the degree of perceived social support of the caregivers of CKD patients; and 8) based on the outcome of the study, what psychosocial interventions for the caregivers of CKD patients can be developed. Data were gathered for a period of 3-4 weeks during the month of May 2014 using self-made questionnaire for part I: Jaloweic Coping Scale for Part II; Picot Caregiver Reward Scale for Part III; and Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support for Part IV. Weighted Mean and ranking and Pearson's r were used for the study's statistical analysis. Based on the results of the study, the psychosocial interventions for the caregivers of chronic kidney disease (CKD) that was developed came from the results with low use of positive coping strategies (for enhancement) and high use of negative coping strategies (for psychological interventions). The following recommendations are suggested: 1) Implementation of the developed psychosocial interventions for the caregivers of CKD patients undergoing hemodialysis; 2) Patients should have a high level of confidence that they can carry out their action plan through the help of their caregivers; their success increases their self-efficacy ( a pearson's confidence that he or she can make positive life changes); 3) Nursing administrators are expected to evaluate the effects of the psychosocial intervention to the caregivers of CKD patients; 4) Hemodialysis nurses to make sure of their commitment towards the implementation of the psychosocial interventions to the caregivers of CKD patients; 5) Hemodialysis nurses to enhance the develped psychosocial interventions by using other interventions; 6) A replica of the study to be conducted to the caregivers of other departments of the hospital.
