_aABSTRACT: This study was conducted to assess the school environment of selected Christian schools in Manila. Specifically, this study assessed the principals in terms of supportive, directive and restrictive leadership behavior teachers' collegial, intimate and disengaged behaviors. The researcher would like to determine the overall school environment of the said institutions, degree of openness of the respondents in terms of principals' leadership behavior and teachers' behavior. The study would like to evaluate the relationship between the principals' openness behavior with the teachers' openness and vice versa. In view of the results, a proposed School Intervention Initiatives (SIIs) was provided to sustain and improve the school environment to achieve the vision and mission of the institutions. The descriptive correlation method was used based on the standard test of Revised Organization Climate Descriptive Questionnaire (OCDQ-RE) as the main gathering instrument. The results revealed that the principals' leadership behavior was supportive. On the other hand, the teachers' behavior was collegial. It was assessed that the over-all school environment was open, according to the teacher respondents. The degree of openness between the principals and the teachers showed that the teachers were more open than the principals. There was no significant relationship in terms of the principals' openness and teachers' intimate behavior, however, there was significant relationship between the principals' openness and teachers' collegial and disengaged behavior. There was no significant relationship in terms of teachers' openness and principals' supportive and directive leadership behavior. However, a high negative relationship had indicated in the restrictive leadership of the principals. Based on these findings, the researcher proposed the following School Intervention Initiatives (SIIs) to sustain and improve the open school environment of selected Christian schools in Manila; recommendations included in the Action Plan: School Environmental Scanning (SES), Personal Awareness Plan (PAP), School Awareness Program (SAP), Skills Enhancement Plan (SEP), School Challenge Initiative (SCI), and High Appreciation Quotient Program (HAQP). In addition, the principals are also advised to have an annual school-based conferences for the development of an effective school environment. To improve the interpersonal relationship among the principals and teachers, it was recommended that faculty clubs, Bible studies or cell groups be created and monthly social hours be held. An annual out of town camp, retreat or team building was recommended to strengthen the intimate behavior among the teachers and principals. A study along sociological, cultural and psychological aspect on enhancement of Christian school environment based on the school personnel expectations was recommended for further studies.
