_b _b _c _aABSTRACT: This study attempted to investigate an evaluation of faculty teaching performance as basis for instructional expertise training program of selected faculty members of Lyceum of the Philippines University in Batangas City. The researcher identified the lowest teaching expertise of faculty members of Lyceum of the Philippines University- Batangas during first semester of school year 2008-2009. After identifying the Instructional Expertise as the lowest expertise of the faculty members in the student evaluation of faculty member's instructional performance, a total of ninety (90) faculty members got a satisfactory level and below evaluation. This ninety (90) faculty members undergo proposed training / seminar and then a post evaluation of their Instructional Expertise performance was assessed during first semester of school year 2009-2010 to know if there will be significant difference between the instructional expertise evaluation of selected faculty members during first semester of school year 2008-2009 and first semester of school year 2009-2010 as perceived by the students after attending the proposed training / seminar. Stepwise t-test for Dependent Samples (or Paired observation) was used to compare the performance evaluation of same group in different semester and see whether there exist any statistical difference between them. Findings revealed that there is a significant difference in instructional expertise of selected faculty members between two semesters after having attended the instructional expertise training program. Thus, it can be concluded that the proposed training/ seminar of the researcher is effective to the teaching performance of the selected teachers. Teachers may change their style of instructions if they will be continuously exposed to new challenges of the education world. Therefore, it is recommended to create a year round program for Instructional Expertise Training to maintain and increase the instructional expertise of its faculty members as this is very crucial in the learning process of the students. _u |
