_b _b _c _aABSTRACT: This study was conducted to identify the performance level of Civic Welfare Training Service (CWTS) as implemented in specific barangays. This was done by identifying the level of satisfaction of the program recipients. Specifically, this study sought to find out the profile of the 150 resident-respondents from four specific barangays in Manila and Quezon City and their satisfaction ratings to the seven areas of development of Civic Welfare Training Service (CWTS) Community Projects. It also attempted to find out whether a relationship exists between the respondents' profile and their satisfaction ratings. This study used the descriptive survey method with 150 respondents selected through the use of purposive sampling and the data gathered were tabulated, analyzed and treated using frequency count, percentage, mean, Pearson's r and Spearman's rho, and chi square test. After the gathered data were statistically treated, the findings revealed that: the communities' subject for community immersion projects have more female respondents than male. The respondents' age range is from 16 to 21 years old and has reached high school level of education. Based on the satisfaction rating given by resident-respondents, the seven areas of development were ranked from the highest to the lowest: A. Health and sanitation; B. Education; C. Morals of the citizenry; D. Environmental awareness; E. Entrepreneurship; F. Safety preparedness; and G. Recreation The use of Pearson Product Moment Correlation revealed that age is slightly correlated with the satisfaction ratings of the respondents. This means that as age increases, the satisfaction rating tends to increase as well. The same is true with educational background. The use of spearman's correlation coefficient showed that educational background is slightly correlated with the mean satisfaction ratings of the respondents. This means that as educational attainment increases, the mean satisfaction rating tends to increase as well. However, in the areas of education and entrepreneurship which yielded a negative correlation this means that as educational attainment increases, the mean satisfaction rating of respondents tends to decrease in these areas. The use of chi-square test revealed that in terms of gender, null hypothesis was accepted stating that the mean satisfaction ratings of male and female respondents in the areas of health and sanitation, environmental awareness, safety preparedness, recreation, and morals of the citizenry and gender have no significant relationship. In the areas of education and entrepreneurship, the null hypothesis was rejected, accepting the alternative hypothesis that is the mean satisfaction ratings of male and female respondents in the areas of education and entrepreneurship and gender have significant relationship. This study concluded that the CWTS community projects of PMI Colleges are rated highly satisfactory by resident-respondents involved. There are areas however, that need re-evaluation and improvements like safety preparedness and recreation. The recommendations are being aligned to these conclusions. The community projects must be offered according to age, gender, and educational background of the respondents so that optimum participation is ensured, quality time is utilized, and empowered residents are contented. _u |
