505 _aABSTRACT: STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM: This study aims to develop an Arduino-based Color Blindness Assistance Device with LED Display that can identify both primary and secondary colors. Based on the research data, a numerous number of people suffer from color blindness deficiency. Regarding this situation, the researchers find a solution that helps assist people affected by color blindness in their daily lives. The following are the research questions regarding the statement of the problem. Is the developed system able to aid the user in identifying both primary and secondary color? Is the device convenient enough for the users to be carried around anywhere? RESEARCH METHODOLOGY: The study is quantitative research that aims to assist people who suffer from color vision deficiency. The device will be portable and compact and contains an LCD display to output its findings. The researchers will then conduct a survey based on the System Usability Scale (SUS) to confirm the overall performance of the device. SUMMARY OF FINDINGS: The results from the survey based on the System Usability Scale (SUS) showed that despite the issues with the Color Wand, the respondents were satisfied with the performance of the device. Stated that they would frequently use the device when given the chance, due to the convenience and simplicity of the device. The results and findings have shown that the Color Wand can perform its functions properly, helping people in detecting colors that they would have difficulties in identifying. CONCLUSION: The conclusion is that the development and implementation of the Color Wand prototype revealed that the project was successful in meeting its goal and demonstrating that those who have color vision deficiency can benefit form the Color Wand. RECOMMENDATION: The researchers recommend that future researchers, if they would have a more stable financial standing and a longer time to develop the product, use better materials for the device’s casing such as acrylic glass or 3D modeled casing. Also, the researchers recommend using better sensors for a larger color range and a better color detection range. Implementing these changes would vastly increase the accuracy and overall quality of the device.
