This study addresses the challenges faced by the animal shelters and rescue organizations, including limited community engagement, inefficient adoption processes, and the lack of a centralized reporting system for animals in need. The researchers developed Paws and Claws Rescue, a mobile application designed to streamline adoption, donation, volunteering, and reporting processes for homeless cats and dogs. The application feature a content-based filtering system for pet adoption, a reporting tool for animal welfare concerns, and a volunteer management system to enhance community involvement. The study employed the Scrum methodology for system development, ensuring flexibility and adaptability throughout the project. The system was evaluated using ISO/IEC 25010 standards. Focusing on functional suitability, performance efficiency, interaction capability, and reliability. Results from user surveys indicated high satisfaction levels, with an overall mean rating of 4.51, categorized as “Very Satisfied”. Key findings include the system’s effectiveness in improving adoption processes, facilitating volunteer engagement, and providing a reliable platform for reporting animal welfare issues. The study successfully addressed the following objectives: improving volunteer activity management through easy registration and tracking tools, implementing a reporting system with integrated mapping for efficient rescue coordination, and enhancing the adoption process with a content-based filtering system that matches pets to user preferences. | ||
