What information management system can be developed to enhance admission and enrollment processes, encoding and viewing of grades, preparing teaching load assignments, and recording/reporting of faculty attendance for PLM-Graduate School of Management? To a very large extent, the research basically utilized the descriptive research method. The descriptive method was utilized because the description of data, interpretation thereof and corresponding discussion is at the present time and holds true to a group of educational institutions like PLM-GSM in higher institutions as well as to a group of people thereat. To a considerate extent, the research is quantitative because it quantified the data to be collected in order to provide objective analysis of the described phenomena. Qualitative discussions were provided on the data pertaining to historical background and discussion of descriptive data, wherein numerical descriptions were either totally absent or minimum in scope. The research was also classified as evaluative and analytical because it broke the problem into pieces; traced and examined each piece; then later on put them back altogether to provide a holistic view. It has all the elements of inferences because inferences have been presented as bases of conclusions and recommendations. Overall, the research design has been considered as multi-dimensional because it integrated many basic research elements and structures such as those described above. Majority of the respondents are PLM-GSM faculty and they are part-time employees. Most of the respondents have been holding their current position for at least one to three years. The majority of the PLM-GSM student respondents are taking Master in Business Administration, followed by Bachelor of Business Management, then those who are taking Master in Government Management, Doctor of Business Administration, Master in Business Administration- Top Executive Program, and lastly those who are taking Doctor of Public Management. Majority of the respondents are part-time students comprising 61.9 percent. As regards to their length of stay at PLM-GSM, most of the respondents are between one and three years and this comprised 78.4 percent. Many organizations today depend on management information systems for managerial decision making. Few information systems, however, fully achieve their intended goal. It takes a great deal of effort, expertise, time and money to create and implement a management information system that produces comprehensive and integrated information on demand. The development and or implementation of a management information system is usually a major organizational undertaking. At PLM-Graduate School of Management non-automated MIS is in use. Evidences show that the University is not automated with strong manual operations for day to day management decisions. The study sought to establish the determinants of MIS efficiency in organizations, the components of MIS in PLM-Graduate School of Management and identify ways to improve MIS efficiency. The findings were varied and among other confirmed that MIS exists in PLM-Graduate of Management in manual form. The efficiency of the PIS is inhibited by among others none end user involvement in choice of systems, limited training, none integrated databases, poor hardware resources, organization policies and procedures to mention but a few. These factors are core in determining how efficient the systems operations turn out to be and markedly its efficiency. The researcher on basis of these findings made recommendations that would be relevant in improving MIS efficiency in PLM- Graduate School of Management. Because the different University units complement each other in management and operations it's only logical that an integrated database be implemented if MIS is to efficiently serve the institution. The current none integration status leads to low response time to students queries and information needs. The University as a Center of Management studies and mentoring will be seen to walk the talk with an efficient functional MIS that serves the top management, internal and external customers thru the development of a web-based academic information management system. _u
